Clayton Kershaw faces Yandy Diaz to kick off the 2020 World Series. You don’t see first basemen lead off a game that often. He normally plays third.
Kershaw gets ahead 1-2, then Diaz pokes a pitch the other way between the first and second basemen for a single. The Rays are off to a good start.
Update: With one out, Randy Arozarena draws a walk. The Rays have runners on first and second.
Update: Hunter Renfroe strikes out on a pitch in the dirt. Two down.
Update: Manuel Margot hits a tapper back to Kershaw. Kershaw bobbles the ball, but makes a strong throw to first to get out of the inning. The Dodgers are coming up.
Update: Tyler Glasnow takes the hill for the Rays against Mookie Betts in the bottom of the first inning. Betts works the count to 3-2, then grounds out to first base.
Update: Corey Seager takes a 3-2 pitch for a walk and the Dodgers have their first base runner of the game.
Update: Glasnow gets two fly balls to end the inning. One inning is in the books, no score so far.
