The Brewers reached an agreement with outfielder Jackie Bradley, Jr. on a two-year contract:
Center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. plans to sign a two-year, $24 million deal with the Milwaukee Brewers that includes an opt-out after the first year, a source familiar with the contract told ESPN.

It’s a good contract for Bradley whose defense makes him good enough to be a consistent two WAR player. During his career, his offense ranked as mostly poor. The two seasons he hit well, 2016 and 2020, his value skyrocketed. The opt-out makes sense in that context. If he hits well in 2021, he will have put together back-to-back seasons with good offense and great defense, and he might get a much better contract. If he doesn’t hit well, he takes home another $12 million in 2022, and the Brewers get his excellent defense at a reasonable price.
