Who Needs a DH?

Three afternoon National League game produced at least 13 runs each. The Cardinals downed the Reds in Cincinnati 11-6, all the scoring coming in the first five innings. The home Padres beat the Diamondbacks 8-7, at one point the Padres blowing a five run lead to trail 7-6. The host Rockies beat the Dodgers 8-5, Colorato collecting ten hits off Clayton Kershaw in 5 2/3 innings, only striking out against the Dodgers ace twice.

The Rockies game did not feature a home run. The Dodgers collected 15 hits and eight walks, but only score five runs as they went 3 for 16 with runners in scoring position. Colorado turned three double plays as well.

The other two games did not get the deadened ball memo. The Cardinals and Reds combined for four home runs, while the Diamondbacks out homered the Padres 4-2. There have been 11 home runs in all other games so far today.
