Shutout or Sit

Aaron Nola of the Phillies pitched a shutout Sunday afternoon, a dominant start in which he allowed just two hits while striking out 10 he crushes the Cardinals 2-0. Nola’s is the fifth complete game of the season, and the fourth to go a full nine innings. Those four “full” complete games all resulted in shutouts. It seems managers today are only allowing pitchers to go the distance if they are posting goose eggs.
