Some big games occurred on Wednesday that shake up the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings a bit. The biggest comes off the bat of Freddie Freeman of the Braves. He hits for the cycle in an 11-9 win against the Marlins. His four four five night with a walk was good for a game score of 85, the best of the day on Wednesday.
Freeman reacted perfectly to the feat:
“To get four hits in a game is just amazing in itself,” Freeman said. “These are the nights that everything comes together. It’s one of those memories that I’ll be able to tell grandkids and hopefully great grandkids that I was able to do something — that’s very, very rare — multiple times. It makes me speechless.”

Juan Soto of the Nationals homers and walks three times in an 8-5 win over the Blue Jays to stay in first place. Max Muncy of the Dodgers hits two home runs and draws a walk in a 9-0 win over the Pirates. His 79 represented the second highest game score of the day and moves him into second place.
Brandon Lowe and Randy Arozarena, both of the Rays, each go one for three with two walks to hold fourth and fifth place respectively. The Rays beat the Orioles 8-4. Matt Olson of the Athletics, after a long run in the top five, goes 0 for 3 with two walks to drop to seventh place. Place five through 14 are separated by just ten points.
