Best Batter Today

The top five in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings remain the same. Juan Soto of the Nationals singles and walks in a 5-1 over the Marlins to hold first place. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals takes an 0 for 4 in a 4-3 Tigers win for second place. Ty France of the Mariners singles in five trips in a 5-1 over the Athletics for three place. In the same game, Matt Olson of the A’s goes one for four for fifth place. Brandon Lowe of the Rays posted a one for four in a 3-1 win over the Phillies for fourth place. I expect to see more churn, however, as second through thirteen are separated by ten points.

The best game score of the day goes to Nathaniel Lowe of the Rangers, an 87. Lowe misses the cycle by a triple as he posts a five for five night with a double and a home run in a 7-3 win over the Indians. Lowe is a first baseman with a good OBP but little power, as he owns a career .341 OBP with a .397 slugging percentage.
