Best Batter Today

Sunday brought some changes to the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Juan Soto of the Nationals and Bryce Harper of the Phillies continue to occupy the 1-2 slots respectively. Soto collected two hits and two walks, the hits going for a double and a triple as Washington beats Pittsburgh 6-2. Harper went one for three with a home run and a walk as the Rockies take the game 5-4.

Kyle Tucker of the Astros homers and walks twice in a 3-1 win over the Angels to move up into third place. Mookie Betts of the Dodgers singles and homers in the 8-0 beating of the Padres to jump into fourth place. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals drew a walk in the low scoring 2-0 win over the Reds for fifth.

The highest game score of the day happened in the Sunday night game as Francisco Lindor of the Mets hits three home runs and draws a walk for a 92. The final dinger in the bottom of the eighth broke a 7-7 tie and gave the Mets the 8-7 win to keep pace with the Braves. Lindor now has six home runs in 44 September at bats.
