Random Evil Player

The Evil Player program decided it was time to reveal the maliciousness of reliever David Phelps. Always a slacker, Phelps never worked more than 113 innings in a season, even in his early days as a swing man. Tommy John surgery gave him a year off in 2018, and a lat strain in 2021 limited him to just 10 1/3 innings.

When he does pitch, Phelps tortures batters with his ability to limit their power. He allowed a .386 slugging percentage in his career on a .246 BA allowed. That gives batters a paltry .140 isolated power. He allowed just 69 home runs in his career, and 41 of those came with the bases empty. He will attempt to stay healthy for the Blue Jays in 2022.
