Improving Skip

The Swedish Women’s Curling team skipper keeps improving. She makes a very nice shot with her last stone of the seventh end that forces Japan to take a one. Swedish now leads 5-4, but keeps the hammer in the even ends.

Update: A great penultimate shot in the eighth end by the Swedish skip gives her team a great chance for a big score. She needs to knock off the Japanese shot stone to score three.

Update: She makes perfect shot, Sweden leads 8-4, and it looks like Japan conceded.

Update: I stand corrected, Japan did not concede. They play the ninth end.

Update: A poor final shot by the Swedish skip in the ninth end gives Japan a chance to score four, but the Japanese skip fails to clear the Swedish stone, and Japan scored just one. They go to the tenth down 8-5, and Sweden has the hammer.

Update: The match ends after six stones in the tenth end as it becomes impossible for Japan to score three points, and Sweden takes the match 8-5. The two skips at times looked brilliant, and at times missed important shots.
