Best Batter Today

Ty France of the Mariners posts the best game score of Thursday and rockets to the third slot in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. France walked, singled, doubled, and homered in five plate appearances for a game score of 77. He’s off to a very good start on the season slashing .327/.431/.571. He’s always been good at getting on base. Now in his seasonal age 27 season, the Mariners would love to see him maintain this power.

The Rangers beat the Mariners 8-6, overcoming a 5-0 Seattle lead after the first inning.

Juan Soto of the Nationals remains on top of the list as he draws two walks in a 4-3 Diamondbacks win. He did pop out with the bases loaded and two out in the ninth, however. Matt Olson of the Braves remains second as the Braves were idle on Thursday.

Jose Ramirez of the Guardians posted a two for five day as they beat the White Sox 6-3, Ramirez now hitting .426. Freddie Freeman of the Dodgers sits fifth, Los Angeles also idle on Thursday.
