Jose Ramirez of the Guardians blasts his way back into the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. He homered twice in four trips to the plate in a 9-5 Angels victory. That puts Ramirez in fourth place. In the same game, Taylor Ward of the Angels misses the cycle by a single as he posts a three for four night with a walk for a game score of 83, the highest of hump day. Ward is hitting on all cylinders at the start of 2022, with a .395/.531/.816 slash line. So far he collected 15 hits, eleven walks and seven extra-base hits. He currently ranks 179.

Ty France of the Mariners remains in the top slot as he goes one for three with a walk as the Rays win the game 3-2. His teammate, J.P. Crawford homered in the game and stands third.

Juan Soto of the Nationals remains in second place with a one for four night as the Washington offense continues to sputter in a 2-1 Marlins win. Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals stands fourth after a two for five game against the Mets. Goldschmidt is on a six-game hit streak during which he’s gone 12 for 26.
