He holds second place.
Jose Ramirez of the Guardians stands in third place after another big game. He goes two for three with two walks, a double and a home run for a game score of 76, tied for the highest of the night. The other 76 came from his teammate Andres Gimenez, three for four with a double and a home run. The Guardians needed all that offense as they beat the Athletics 9-8.
Paul Goldschmidt of the Cardinals extended his hit streak to eight games with a home run in four trips to the plate. The Diamondbacks take the game 6-2, but Goldschmidt sits in fourth place. Five points now separate the top four.
Fifth place goes to Manny Machado of the Padres after a one for four in a 7-3 win in Pittsburgh. Machado owns a .388/.451/.588 slash line as April nears a close.
