Minnesota tries to avoid a sweep as they send Sonny Gray against the Yankees and Nestor Cortes. Gray posted a 4.90 ERA for the Yankees in 2018. Since leaving he is 30-24 with a 3.40 ERA. Cortes returns from the illjured list. He stands 4-1 with a 2.20 ERA at home in 2022. Only five of the sixteen home runs he allowed came at Yankee Stadium.

The White Sox send Dylan Cease against the Athletics and JP Sears. Cease is creeping up on Justin Verlander in Tom Tango Cy Young points, Oakland is a good place to pitch a gem. Sears pitched strictly as a starter since joining Oakland, 2-1 in five starts with a 2.37 ERA. He allowed just three home runs in 49 1/3 innings.
