Two No Hitters

Tyler Alexander of the Tigers completed five no-hit innings against the Orioles. The Tigers lead 8-0. Alexander walked one and struck out three, with 61 pitches thrown.

Max Scherzer just completed five perfect innings for the Mets against the Brewers. He struck out eight and thew 54 pitches so far. The Mets lead 3-0.

Update: The Mets take a 4-0 lead on back-to-back triples by Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor.

Update: Alexander issues a walk in the sixth inning, but does not allow a hit on two fly outs and a ground out. Ryan Kreidler made a great play on the grounder at third base to end the inning.

Update: Scherzer retires the side in the six to keep the perfect game intact. Ryan Mountcastle singles to lead off the seventh inning against Alexander, ending that no-hit bid.

Update: Tylor Megill comes on in relief of Scherzer to start the seventh, and gives up a hit to Christian Yelich to break up the perfect game.
