The Yankees and Blue Jays play an important AL East series in Toronto. Both teams are trying to catch the Rays and Orioles. Jhony Brito takes on Alek Manoah. Brito, a true rookie, owns a 5.81 ERA as his three-true outcomes are poor. The worst may be his six home runs allowed in 31 innings. Manoah is having a off year, with 25 walks allowed in 41 innings. He walked 51 last season in 196 2/3 innings.
The Braves visit the Rangers in a battle of first place teams. Charlie Morton faces Dane Dunning. In his sixteenth MLB season Morton owns a 3.32 ERA in 40 2/3 innings. He’s walking more batters than usual, but so far compensated by allowing a .158 BA with runners in scoring position. Dunning allowed zero home runs in 31 1/3 innings, helping him to a 1.72 ERA. He allowed one HR per nine innings during his first three seasons.
