Feats in the Battery

Shohei Ohtani of the Angles does double duty tonight in a game against the Orioles. He is a double away from the cycle as he is on the winning side of a 9-5 score. His battery mate, Chad Wallach, hit three home runs on the night, so he is one away from tying the record as the Angels bat in the top of the sixth inning. He came into the game with six career homers in 100 games. The battery owns six of the Angels 13 hits tonight.

Correction: My apologies, I misread the (3) after his home run as the number in the game. It was the number on the season.

Update: Broadcast says a starting pitcher has never hit for the cycle.

Update: Ohtani hits into a force out in the top of the seventh inning.

Update: Ohtani singles in the ninth. Four for five with a walk, and seven innings pitched.
