The Cubs and Yankees play a return game in New York as Jameson Taillon takes on Carlos Rodon. Taillon returns to his home field of the previous two seasons, where his success led to a four-year deal with Chicago. So far, the money doesn’t seem all that well spent as Taillon comes into the game with a 6.93 ERA. His BABIP is way up, to .337 versus his career average of .298. With his XFIP at 4.85, maybe the Cubs defense hasn’t played well behind him. Rodon returns from the illjured list to make his Yankees debut. He posted the fourth best ERA in the majors from over the previous two seasons.

The first place Reds visit the second place Brewers in an NL Central battle. Andrew Abbott takes on Corbin Burnes. Abbott is another rookie helping to turn around the Reds season. He remains undefeated in his short career. He allowed just 20 hits in 37 1/3 innings, helping him to a 1.21 ERA. Burnes saw his K rate drop this season. He still does a good job of limiting hits, but his ERA rose to 4.00.
