First place Milwaukee goes for a sweep of the Reds in Cincinnati as Adrian Houser takes on Ben Lively. Houser is quite hittable, with 62 safeties allowed in 51 1/3 innings, and a .315 BA allowed with runners on base. Only 14 of those hits went for extra bases however, helping him to a 3.68 ERA. Lively allowed seven of the ten home runs he allowed at home this season where his ERA stands at 3.86, just slightly higher than his road ERA.
The Athletics lost six in a row and are moving toward the level of the 1962 Mets again. The Twins visit with Joe Ryan facing JP Sears. Ryan allowed just 18 walks in 107 innings, taking some sting off the 16 home runs he allowed. His walk rate is among the American League leaders. Sears is tied for the AL lead in hit batters with ten. That makes his low walk rate a bit less impressive, and he’s been dinged for 19 homers.
Enjoy!
