The Rangers beat the Marlins 6-0 but lost their star rookie Josh Jung to a fractured left thumb:
Jung fractured the thumb on a bizarre play in the top of the sixth inning with runners on first and second and nobody out. Jorge Soler hit a scorching, 110-mph liner directly at Jung near the base. The ball bounded out of Jung’s glove, but he grabbed it and started a double play. He tagged the bag and threw to Marcus Semien at second. Jung then left the game.

Jung went 0 for 2 in the game, leaving him with a .274/.323/.489 slash line for the season. The Rangers are waiting on a specialist to determine how much time Jung will miss. It’s possible he’d done for the season. Shortstop Corey Seager also suffered from a thumb injury this season.
