I wrote a book entitled BRIGHT LIGHTS BLACK STARS which tells the story of the Negro League players who played in southwestern Ontario’s Intercounty Baseball League.(IBL)  I would like to know if you would perhaps do an article on the book or mention it on your site. My E-mail is paulallen342@aol.com and phone is 613 404-8838.

The IBL was founded in 1919 and also boasts the World’s Oldest continuously played Baseball Park in the world as confirmed by Guinness Book of World Records and MLB. The book is really an integrated baseball success story. It tells the story of the great Negro League players like Wilmer Fields, Shanty Clifford, Jimmy Wilkes, Gentry “Jeep” Jessup, Ed Steele, many others, and even Satchel Paige’s impact on the Canadian baseball scene. Of course, the book covers their teammates and great teams of the 1948-1959 era of Canadian baseball.

I am attaching a few links about the book FYI. I will also send a copy to you if you wish. The book has been endorsed by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, and baseball people like Bill Lee (Red Sox and Expos) and Tom Gamboa (coach for Cubs and KC Athletics) etc.

My friend Bill “Spaceman” Lee wrote the Foreword to Bright Lights Black Stars and I am also a longtime friend/teammate of Fergie Jenkins as a youngster in Chatham, Ontario. Both could certainly vouch for me.

Below are the links with additional information about yours truly and the book.

Thanks and hope to hear from you when your no doubt busy schedule permits. We can chat if it is more convenient and time efficient for you. 613 404-8838
