Aaron Nola pitched a shutout for the Phillies as they beat Mets 4-0. He was perfect through five innings and finished the game with four hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts.

It is the eighth complete game of the season, with five of those resulting in shutouts. Almost all the pitchers who finished what they started own low ERAs. Nola reduced his to 3.10 today.

Complete games are still down, however. Through this date a year ago ten were recorded. I suspect the high quality pitchers on illjured list may be contributing to the drop in CGs.
