Brads battle in Baltimore as the Rays continue their series with the Orioles. Taj Bradley takes on Kyle Bradish. Bradley makes his fifth start of the season, and already he shows improvement compared to his rookie year of 2023. He cut down on his walks while maintaining a high K rate, leading to a better than two run drop in his ERA. Bradish makes the sixth start of his third season, and like Bradley brought his ERA down, but for the second season in a row. He has yet to allowed a home run with 25 2/3 innings pitched.

Sonny Gray of the Cardinals takes on Rangers Suarez of the Phillies. Gray’s 2.60 ERA would be the best single season mark of his career, and he finished a year under 3.00 four times previously. Suarez comes off the worst start of his season and his first loss. His 1.75 ERA ranks second in the NL.

Finally, Cal Quantrill leads the Rockies against the Dodgers and Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Quantrill pitched well on the road this season with a 3.38 ERA, not much different than his overall 3.53. Yamamoto, in his first 59 MLB innings, showed great control with 69 strikeouts and just 13 walks.
