Best Batter Today

Aaron Judge of the Yankees continued his power surge as he went two for three with walk and a home run in a 7-3 win over the Giants. That keeps Judge in first place in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. He leads the AL in extra-base hits with 39, eight more than Bobby Witt Jr.of the Royals and total bases with 143, nine more than his teammate, Juan Soto. Soto ranks second after a two for three game with a sacrifice fly. Judge leads Soto by almost 13 points.

Jose Ramirez of the Guardians ranks third as he went two for four in a 3-2 win over the Nationals.

Kyle Tucker of the Astros homered and walked in a 5-2 over the Twins to return to fourth place. His teammate, Yordan Alvarez, collected a walk and three hits, including two home runs, for a game score of 85, the best of the day. Alvarez owns a decent .283/.357/.480 slash line, That’s good, but down some from his awesome previous two seasons. Given his history, that’s good enough for him to rank eighth.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr.of the Blue Jays took back the fifth spot with two hits and a walk in an 8-1 Pirates win.
