The Mets are chasing the Nationals for third place in the NL East as Tylor Megill leads New York into Washington to face MacKenzie Gore. Although he only made three starts, Megill is a microcosm of the Mets woes. He owns a 1.69 ERA, but is 0-2. Gore allows a .353 BABIP, but with 11.05 K per 9 IP, the lack of balls in play limits the hits against him.

Tarik Skubal leads the Tigers into Texas against Nathan Eovaldi. Like Gore, Skubal generates strikeouts at a high rate, but his much lower ERA comes from allowing a .250 BABIP.
