Yordan Alvarez of the Astros rejoins the top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. His two for five in an 8-5 win over the Cardinals puts him in fifth place. He hit .397/.462/.690 with eight multi-hit games in his last 15 contests.

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees remain one and two respectively after a 5-1 win over the Twins. Judge singled, doubled, and walked in the game, while Soto walked twice. Judge leads the majors with 40 extra-base hits. Jose Ramirez of the Guardians singled, walked, and drove in his 58th run of the season as Cleveland extended their AL East lead with an 8-5 win over the Royals. Gunnar Henderson of the Orioles reached base three times with a single and two walks in a 10-1 win over the Blue Jays. That gives him a .369 OBP for the season.

The two best performances of the night belonged to Missouri batters as Bobby Witt Jr.of the Royals and Masyn Winn of the Cardinals both posted game scores of 77 in their team losses. Witt went three for five with two home runs and stands 0.12 points behind Alvarez in the rankings. Winn posted a perfect night at the plate, three for three with a home run and a walk. He is slashing .309/.359/.446 in his age 22 season.
