Some fairly good news for Juan Soto and the Yankees after he came out of Thursday’s game with a sore forearm:

Soto underwent testing Friday, which revealed the inflammation and no ligament damage in his elbow. 

Boone said Soto was day-to-day. He was not in the lineup for Friday night’s series opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers in New York, but Boone said he could be available to pinch hit sometime this weekend.

The timing is bad, as we only get to see six of the best hitters in the majors, rather than seven.
