Games of the Day

The Phillies “visit” the Mets as the two teams square off in London at 1 PM EDT. Ranger Suarez faces Sean Manaea. Suarez tries to become the first ten-game winner in the majors, coming into the game with a 1.70 ERA. He allowed just five home runs in 74 innings. Manaea does a great job of limiting power in general. Opponents slug just .341 against him this season.

With six wins in a row, the last two against the Cubs, the Reds are now tied for second place in the NL Central. Chicago sends Ben Brown against Andrew Abbott. The rookie Brown posted excellent three-true outcome numbers in his first 51 1/3 innings, allowing just three home runs. Abbott now owns a 3.68 ERA in his first 178 1/3 innings. He gives up more home runs at home than on the road, but is better at limiting hits overall in Cincinnati.

Finally, the Dodgers and Yankees play game two of their series in New York as Gavin Stone battles Nestor Cortes. Stone allowed half the home runs in twice the innings compared to his rookie season of 2023, allowing just four dingers in 62 innings. Cortes is probably pitching better than his 3.46 ERA, but allowed a .298 BA with runners in scoring position.

Enjoy!
