Best Batter Today

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees remain the top two players respectively in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Judge had an unusually bad day, 0 for 4 with four strikeouts for a game score of 38. Soto collected two singles in his four PA, closing the gap with Judge to 19 points. The Royals took the game 4-3.

Yordan Alvarez of the Braves and Jose Ramirez of the Guardians and their teams took Thursday off, and they remain third and fourth respectively.

The Braves played at the Orioles where Gunnar Henderson of the O’s singled in four trips to the plate to rank fifth. In the same game, Ozzie Albies of the Braves tied for the highest game score of the day, a 73. Albies posted a four for five with two doubles. Like so many of the Braves, Albies’ power is down this season. After hitting 33 homers in 2023, he only has four in 2024. He helped the Braves take the game 6-3.

Carlos Correa of the Twins tied for the top game score with a three four four with a home run in a 6-2 win over the Athletics. He is 18 for his last 33 with six multi-hit games. That moved him up to 16th in the rankings.
