Games of the Day

The Phillies visit the Orioles with Ranger Suarez taking on Kyle Bradish. Suarez already owns ten wins to go with his 1.81 ERA. He allowed just five home runs and seventeen walks in 79 2/3 innings. Bradish stands 2-0 in seven starts despite a 2.62 ERA. He averages less than five innings per game, so lots can happen when he leaves.

The third place Reds send Hunter Greene against the first place Brewers and Freddy Peralta in an NL Central contest. Greene pitched well in May, posting a 2.40 ERA and allowing just two home runs in 30 innings. He wasn’t able to carry that into June, however, with a 6.39 ERA in two starts and three home runs allowed in 12 2/3 innings. Peralta, with low averages in his opponent slash line, is pitching better than his 3.95 ERA. He allows a much higher BA with runners on base.

Finally, Cole Ragans of the Royals takes on Gavin Stone of the Dodgers. This is the second season in a row Ragans lowered his ERA about 0.4 runs. He upped his K rate and lowered his walk rate. Stone pitched solidly for Los Angeles, holding opponents to a .301 OBP and a .346 slugging percentage.
