Luis L. Ortiz of the Pirates made a triumphant return to the rotation on Wednesday. A starter for most of his first two seasons in Pittsburgh, Ortiz made 21 appearances from the bullpen in 2024 before facing the Reds. He allowed them just one run as he lasted six innings, giving up four hits with no walks while striking out seven.
