The White Sox try to take down the Guardians again as Jared Shuster faces Ben Lively. Shuster returns to a starting tole after 17 relief appearances. He owns a 3.15 ERA despite a rather low K rate and a rather high walk rate. Balls in play against him resulted in just a .257 BABIP. Twelve of the 24 runs score against Lively came off of home runs.

Cristopher Sanchez of the Phillies takes on Jameson Taillon of the Cubs. Sanchez ranks second in ERA in the NL at 2.41, with two of his teammates in the top five. Sanchez leads in HR per 9 IP at 0.10. Taillon’s 3.03 ERA would be the best single season mark of his career. He allowed just 17 walks in 74 1/3 innings.

Corbin Burnes of the Orioles goes for his tenth win of the season with Bryce Miller of the Mariners standing in the way. Burnes owns a 2.28 ERA, second in the AL. As usual, he issues few walks, just 2.03 per 9 IP. Miller owns a 1.99 ERA at home, 6.28 away.

Finally, the Diamondbacks try to gain on the Dodgers with Zac Gallen trying to nick Landon Knack. Gallen continues his excellent three-true outcome numbers this season, improving both his walk and home run rates compared to his career averages. Thirty and one third innings into his career, Knack allowed just 21 hits for a .207 BABIP.
