The Astros continue their series against the Twins in Minnesota with Hunter Brown taking on Joe Ryan. Brown emerged as a potential ace over his last eight starts going 5-1 with a 1.29 ERA. He allowed just 29 hits in 49 IP. Ryan, in his fourth season, averages six innings a start and holds the opposition to a .251 OBP. That makes it difficult to string together enough base runners for a big inning.

Two of the worst teams in the majors, the White Sox and the Marlins, bring a decent pitching matchup to Saturday. Garrett Crochet faces Yonny Chirinos. Crochet, at seasonal age 25, is the subject of trade rumors. The White Sox control him through the 2026 season, which would capture his early prime. Trading him depends on how fast the White Sox believe they can improve the roster internally. Chirinos makes his fourth start for Miami this season. He’s been extremely good in his career at limiting walks.
