Oneil Cruz of the Pirates tagged up from first on a sacrifice fly, and was originally called safe on a fantastic slide to the outfield side of second base. Cruz caught the base with his hand as Edmundo Sosa of the Phillies reached for the tag. The play was overturned on replay, however, as it showed that Sosa tagged Cruz’s long, flying braids. A clean cut Cruz might have been safe.

The Phillies lead the Pirates 7-6 in the top of the eighth inning.

Update: The Pirates walk-off with two runs in the bottom of the ninth to beat the Phillies 8-7. Nick Gonzales singled in the winning run after Cruz drove in the tying run with a fielder’s choice. Cruz went three for five with a double in the game.
