Alvarez Cycle

Yordan Alvarez hit a triple that injured Julio Rodriguez, which set him for the a double in the eighth inning that gave him a cycle:

Alvarez finished 4 for 4 with two RBI and two runs scored in the Astros’ 6-4 loss to Seattle.

The 27-year-old Alvarez had the second cycle in the history of T-Mobile Park, after Miguel Tejada’s on Sept. 29, 2001.

That’s just the second cycle this season. In recent years cycles ran high. From 2017 through 2023, there were at least four cycles in each full season (there were none in 2020). Batters have a ways to go to catch up for 2024.
