The Brewers stuck with 20-year-old rookie Jackson Chourio despite a somewhat rough start to his career. Through his first 67 games he hit just .223/.272/.351. That included six doubles and seven home runs. He homered twice today in a 16-7 win over the Braves. In his last 34 games, Chourio hit .360/.400/.581.
The Brewers as a whole got off to a great start, so they could afford to wait. By Chourio maturing into a better hitter, they were able to take the blow of losing Christian Yelich to injury and keep on winning.
