Bobby Witt Jr.of the Royals kept pace with a double and a walk in a 13-1 win over the Reds. Yordan Alvarez of the Astros went two for four in a 6-1 over the White Sox.

The best game score of the day belonged to Witt’s teammate, Dairon Blanco, an 81. The outfielder went three for five with two home runs. In his third season, Blanco owns a .253/.306/.408 slash line in 143 games. He’s a good reserve, and at seasonal age 31 found a niche in the major leagues.
