The Rangers take on the Guardians with Nathan Eovaldi facing Tanner Bibee. The Guardians lead in the AL Central is down to two games against both Kansas City and Minnesota. Eovaldi’s strength this season is his walk rate, 2.06 per nine IP. That’s well below his career rate to 2.54. Note that the Guardians rank low in both walks and strikeouts, as their offense likes to attack the ball. This could work well against a pitcher like Eovaldi. Bibee is now 20-9 in 49 career starts with a 3.15 ERA. He is also in control, walking just 77 batters in 274 1/3 innings.

The Phillies visit the Royals in a possible preview of a World Series matchup! Taijuan Walker battles Michael Wacha. Hitters will be more on display here, especially MVP candidate Bobby Witt Jr. already at 9.0 fWAR. While the Phillies don’t have a hitter at that level, Alec Bohm and Bryce Harper combined for 7.6 fWAR.
