Best Batter Monday

The top five of the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings did not change due to Sunday’s games. Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees stand one and four respectively. Neither of them played in the 6-4 win over the Pirates. Second place Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers did play, and went one for four in a 2-1 win over the Rockies. Vladimir Guerrero Jr.of the Blue Jays drew two walls in four trips to the plate out of the leadoff slot as the Marlins finished their season with a 3-1 win. He remains in third place. The Astros game at the Guardians was rained out and will not be played, leaving Houston’s Yordan Alvarez in fifth place.

The best game score of the final day of the AL season ironically goes to Lenyn Sosa of the worst team in baseball, the White Sox. He posted a three for four day with a walk and a home run for a score of 76. He is a nice example of Chicago’s troubles. He posted his best season in the majors, but the White Sox managed to find 100 games for someone who hit .254/.283/.359.
