Playoffs Today

Luis Serverino and Cristopher Sanchez square off as the Mets and Phillies play game two of their NLDS, New York leading 1-0. Severino phaced the Phillies twice this season, allowing three runs in six inning each time. He gave up three home runs, something that might hurt the Mets chances of winning today. Sanchez gets the game two start due to his better performance at home. Sanchez allowed a .222/.253/.291 slash line at home, .307/.363/.450 on the road. While his home runs allowed were fairly even, he gave up eight doubles at home, twenty six on the road.

Yu Darvish faces Jack Flaherty in game two of the Padres and Dodgers NLDS, Los Angeles up 1-0 in the series. Darvish stands 2-3 with a 3.00 ERA as an opponent at Dodger Stadium in his career. He struck out 51 and walked just 12 in 42 innings. In his one post-season game with the Padres at LA, he got the win but allowed three runs in five innings. Flaherty’s good three-true outcomes have not translated to a great post-season career, but I’d rather have the good process going into this game.

Enjoy!
