Mets Take Command

The Mets take an early lead against the Phillies in game three of their NLDS with solo home runs by Pete Alonso and Jesse Winker. They then keep the pressure on by collecting runs in the sixth, seventh, and eighth inning to win 7-2 in Queens. They had fourteen batters reach base by a walk or a hit, and half of them came around to score.

Sean Manaea owned a shutout through seven innings, gave up a single to Edmundo Sosa, the first and only batter he faced in the eighth, and gets charged with a run when Sosa comes around to score the Phillies first run.

The Mets now have two chance to advance to the NLCS, while the Phillies face two elimination games.
