The Guardians defeat the Tigers 5-4 Thursday night to force a game five in Cleveland on Saturday. David Fry of the Guardians, entering as a pinch hitter in the seventh inning, played both big and small ball to seal the Cleveland win. His pinch hit home run put te Guardians on top 4-3, and then his safety squeeze in the top of the ninth gave the Guardians an insurance run, allowing them to weather the Tigers single tally in the bottom of the ninth.

It was a fun, close edge of your seat game. Fry has now driven in five runs in 11 at bats in the 2024 post season.
