Best Batter Today

Aaron Judge and Juan Soto of the Yankees remain one and four respectively in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. They saw action on Thursday, the only two players in the top five to do so. Judge doubled and drew two walks in the 3-1 win over Kansas City, while Soto singled and drove in the first run of the game. The two get a chance to build points as the Yankees advance to the ALCS.

Zach McKinstry of the Tigers posted the highest game score of the evening, a 67. He went one for two with a walk, a hit by pitch, and a home run in the 5-4 Cleveland win. That forces a game five on Saturday. McKinstry hasn’t played much in his first post-season, but he made the most of his appearances. He is three for seven, all three hits going for extra-bases. Adding the BB and HBP, his slash line stands at .429/.556/1.143. Kudos to AJ Hinch for using McKinstry in the right spots.
