The Tigers and Guardians play the first three innings without scoring. Tarik Skubal struck out David Fry, intentionally walked Jose Ramirez, then induced a pop-up by Land Thomas. Skubal is up to sixteen scoreless innings in the post-season. The Guardians are using the bullpen with Matt Boyd going two shutout innings to extend his post-season career to seven shutout innings.
