The Guardians load the bases with one out in the bottom of the fifth, bringing up Jose Ramirez to face Tarik Skubal of the Tigers. Skubal hits Ramirez in his forearm, driving in a run and tying the game. That ends Skubal’s scoreless inning streak.

Lane Thomas then comes up, swings at the first pitch, and drives the ball high and long into the leftfield stands for a grand slam! The Guardians take a 5-1 lead.

That’s the first grand slam Skubal allowed in his career.
