The Dodgers can win the National League Pennant with a win over the Mets Friday evening, a 5 PM EDT start. Jack Flaherty takes on David Peterson. Flaherty is coming off seven shutout innings against the Mets, and the Los Angeles starters simply dominated New York. The own a 1.65 ERA and walked six and struck out 20 in 16 1/3 innings. Peterson pitched well in his role as the man in after the opener, allowing two runs in 8 2/3 innings this post season. We’ll see if he can limit free passes as Mets starters walked 16 Dodgers batters in 14 1/3 innings.

The Yankees and Guardians play game four of the ALCS in Cleveland starting at 8 PM, New York leading the series 2-1. Luis Gil takes on Gavin Williams. Gil makes his post-season debut after a long layoff. Gil’s weakness is issuing walks, but the Guardians tend to attack the ball. If Cleveland goes after pitches outside the zone, that will help Gil. Williams also make his post-season debut. He two tends to issue walks, and the Yankees are a selective team. BBs could decide this game.
