The Mets defeat the Dodgers 12-6 to force the series back to Los Angeles for a game six, the Dodgers up three games to two. The Mets kept the pressure on all game, with New York recording 19 at bats with runners in scoring position. Pete Alonso had a big first inning home run to give New York an early lead, and Starling Marte knocked out three doubles.

Mets pitchers did a little better in this game, only walking five batters.

The main positive for the Dodgers is that they only used three pitchers, saving their best for a possible bullpen game on Sunday.

I love to see series go at least six games. Those are usually competitive.
