Best Batter Today

Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers moved ahead of Aaron Judge of the Yankees in the Baseball Musings Batter Rankings. Ohtani went two for four with a walk in the 12=6 Mets victory, while Judge singled and walked in the 8-6 win over the Guardians. Ohtani leads Judge by less than a point. So far, Ohtani hit much better in the post-season than Judge.

Juan Soto of the Yankees remained in fourth place after a home run and a walk. Soto is hitting like one would expect in the playoffs, but he has not been able to catch the idle Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for third place. Francisco Lindor of the Mets ranks fifth as he went two for four with a walk and a triple.

Andy Pages of the Dodgers posted the highest game score of the day, an 80. He hit two home runs and a single in four at bats, driving in four runs. Pages slugged just .407 in his rookie year, but power was probably his strongest suit as 37 of his 100 hits went for extra bases. At seasonal age 23, he has time to improve.
