Barry Bonds just made a very nice play to end the third inning. Lofton lined a shot to left. Bonds ran back hard, stretched out as far as he could and snagged the ball with his back to the plate. I continued to be surprised at how well Bonds moves in the field with his bad knees.
Don’t forget the runs in the Saturday game that were solely due to Barry’s inability to catch up to a ball rolling into left field. He took it off the carom and cost his team a run.
Barry was playing deep in Sunday’s game so he had a shot at catching it. Come on, he really only took like four steps. Lucky snag.
