Cole Hot in August

With eight scoreless innings tonight against the Mets, Cole Hamels line for August is 21 IP, 12 hits, 3 walks, 27 strikeouts and just two runs allowed. I believe this is the Cole the Phillies expected. Philadelphia takes a 13-0 victory.

He didn’t even look that sharp tonight (I didn’t watch the eighth inning, when he notched his final four (yes, four) strikeouts).
Lots of flyballs to the warning track and several line drives.

Jay, Cole struck out just 3 in the 8th. I believe Reyes’ hit ball (ruled a single) hit Milledge running to second. I looked away and am not 100% sure about that, but I know it wasn’t a K.

I would agree with Jay, he wasn’t really ON. Scary when you think about it. By the way, from Gameday:
    Top 8TH B:2 S:3 O:1
Lastings Milledge strikes out swinging. Passed ball by catcher Chris Coste. Lastings Milledge to 1st.
    Top 8TH B:0 S:0 O:1
Offensive Substitution: Pinch hitter Ricky Ledee replaces Royce Ring.
    Top 8TH B:2 S:3 O:2
    Ricky Ledee strikes out swinging.
    Top 8TH B:0 S:0 O:3
Jose Reyes singles on a ground ball. Lastings Milledge out at 2nd, hit by batted ball, second baseman Danny Sandoval unassisted.
