Long for Longoria

The Yankees get a good start from Ian Kennedy tonight. He allowed two runs through six innings, and was pulled after giving up a single to start the seventh. The bullpen, however, pours gasoline instead of water on the Rays. Crawford homered off Traber to give Kennedy three runs on the night. Bruney allowed a two-run homer to Upton. Longoria then hits his first major league home run to tie the game. He’s off to a good start with a .444/.583/.889 line.
Update: Cano pinch hits in the 8th and homers to give the Yankees the lead again. Bruney, who allowed two home runs, might get the win.
Update: Mariano Rivera pitches a 1-2-3 ninth for the save and an 8-7 Yankees victory. Bruney, who pitched the worst of the four hurlers used, gets the win.
Kennedy left the game because he was hit on hip by the single in the seventh.
